Our beach-front holiday house has wonderful sea views. With two double bedrooms, a room with two comfortable single beds and a bunk room sleeping 4 it is ideal for extended family or sharing with two families.

There's a newly rennovated bathroom, two toilets, a large open-plan kitchen-dining-lounge area, a large rear deck and barbeque area at the back of the house with a gas fire pit plus more decks on the front and northern sides. We redesigned the interior layout to maximise the open living space and indoor-outdoor flow.

Living space

The living area is expansive with plenty of room for family and entertaining activities. Congregate around the large native rimu family dining table (seats 8-10) for meals inside, or enjoy the evening sun while you eat outside on the large outside table (seats 10-12) on the western deck. 

The living area contains two new three-seater and two two-seater sofas, a wood-burner fire (firewood supplied), an iPod stereo system, LCD TV with all digital FreeView channels, DVD player, unlimited wifi, and a bookcase loaded with interesting books and magazines.

Kitchen

The new modern kitchen has everything you need including stove, microwave, 2 fridge/freezers, dishwasher, jug and toaster, well stocked pantry (including basic food preparation products such as cooking oil, sauces, variety of teas, coffee, sugar etc), plenty of quality dinnerware, cutlery, glasses etc to cater for 11 or more guests.

master and front double bedrooms

Located at the back of the house on the western side, the master bedroom is quiet enabling you to sleep-in peacefully while the kids play in the living room. The modern king size bed with egyptian cotton sheets plus the gentle sound of the waves breaking on the beach ensures a good nights sleep. Includes electric blankets, his & hers dressers and ranch slider opening onto the western deck. Access to the master bedroom is through the adjascent children’s bunk room. At the front of the house is a small bedroom with queen size bed featuring a ranch slider opening onto the northern deck. Relax and nod off to sleep to the sound of gentle surf!

OTHER BEDROOMS

The bunk room has 1 set of single bunks accommodating up to 2 people plus a single innersprung bed. There is also a new portable cot for babies or toddlers but you'll need to bring your own baby sheets. Access to the master bedroom is through this room. The 4th bedroom has two high quality single inner sprung beds.

Decks and Outside Furniture

The day deck on the eastern and northern sides are bathed in sun during the morning and early afternoon. The larger afternoon/evening deck on the western side gets the late sun through until sunset. A Large outdoor table seats 10-12 plus integrated seating in the deck gives everyone somewhere comfortable to sit and eat outdoors.

Having decks on three sides of the house means that there’s always somewhere you can get into or out of the sun or away from any breeze. Four comfortable kwila timber/canvas chairs plus an aluminium/canvas lounger and two hardwood reclining deck chairs plus outside coffee tables make for pleasurable outdoors relaxing. A set of plastic outside chairs supplement these if you have a larger group.

Kids and Toys

The beach house and beach is extremely child friendly. Assorted beach toys and some board games are there for your enjoyment. For babies and toddlers there's a new portable cot and high chair. Of course, there's the 100 acre sand pit out the front to amuse kids for hours!

Kayaks

Seven fun sit-on kayaks plus a two-person sit-on sea kayak and also a modern inflatable stand up paddle board are provided for your use along with adult and children’s life jackets. The two-person kayak has room for a dive bottle or your fishing gear. Goat Island is only 200 metres away and is great fun to explore. Assorted boogie-boards are also available for use in the surf we occasionally get.

Everything you need

Quality bed and kitchen linen is supplied along with a plentiful supply of towels. The master bedroom includes egyptian cotton sheets. Our cleaning service takes care of cleaning the beach house, laundering supplied linen and towels and remaking the beds at the end of your stay.

The laundry is located out of sight and mind in the garage. There you will find a tub with hot and cold water, automatic Fisher & Paykel top loading washing machine and tumble-dryer. There's a clothes-line in the back yard.

Warm in winter with wood fire & other winter heating. Oakura Bay is a great place to get away from it all in the winter time too. The house is fully insulated. The living area is heated by a wood burning fire (firewood supplied). An oil heater warms the bedroom area of the house prior to retiring. Electric blankets warm the double beds, and three single beds. There are plenty of extra blankets available.

Entertainment includes toys, flatscreen TV with Digital Freeview and DVD player, unlimited wifi, tablet running Spotify and Netflix, gas barbeque, outdoor table seating 10, Italian gas fire pit with traditional party lights.

Tariff

Services (for a relaxing holiday!)

Quality bed and bathroom linen and bath towels are supplied and laundered at the end of your stay plus the beach house is opened up and made ready for your arrival and cleaned at the end of your stay. For stays of less than 6 nights, this is all covered by a service fee of $70 plus $10/head.

Arrival and Departure Times

The property will be available from 4 pm on the day of your arrival and must be vacated by 12pm on the day of your departure in the event that another guest is arriving that day. If there are no bookings prior or post your stay you may arrive early (from 10am) or leave late (5pm) for an early arrival fee of $30 or late departure fee of $30 both with prior arrangement.

We may require a $500 refundable damage bond.
